Raquel + Sam came to us in May of 2020 when their planned wedding in Bali had had to be cancelled (due to covid of course!). They were amazingly resilient, and positive about the opportunity to be married here in Adelaide, so together we planned and designed a whole new wedding in an entirely different style.
They both lived in the Northern Territory for a lot of our time together, so the planning was done from afar. They were great at making good, quick decisions, and the whole vendor team and I loved them for it!
Raquel was very focussed on the design, and aware that the right details can go a long way towards both reflecting herself and Sam’s life together, and enhancing her guest’s experience, so we had a lot of fun collaborating on colour and decor decisions together. The results speak for themselves, and show what can be achieved when the couple and the vendor team have trust and faith in each other.
The week leading up to the wedding day was very stressful with a new covid outbreak playing out at the last minute. Rules about how we could proceed changed each day, and the plans were in a constant state of flux, along with the potential for a snap lockdown shutting us down completely. Thankfully we got through, and were able to give Raquel + Sam the beautiful day they deserved.
From the Bride + Groom
What was your favourite part of the Planning and Styling service?
Exploring floral décor to suit our theme.
What are your fondest memories of the wedding day?
The ceremony, photographs with my husband, our entry into the reception, and mingling with our guests.
What was the best decision you made when planning the wedding? Any advice for future couples?
Go with your gut and speak up if you feel like something needs to be changed. Otherwise you will end up spending too much time worrying about it and end up changing things last minute. So be open and have honest communication with your planner.
How would you describe what it was like to work with us to an engaged friend?
Working with the Sparrow Team was like having a coffee catch-up with your excited but also calm, super -organised best friend who is just as invested in your wedding as you are. Who knows everything there is to know about styling and coordination of a wedding. A very valuable friend and working partner indeed.
Were there any other services you would have liked us to have offered, or taken care of for you?
Emma and the Sparrow Team took care of everything and more, more than you would know when planning a wedding. That’s one of the best things about the service. You can sit back and relax and let the professionals handle everything with full confidence that they will provide nothing less than the very best!
Thank you for your amazing tips Raquel + Sam, we’re so happy to see you loving life as Mr + Mrs!
