Amelia put together a very neat summary of the story of her relationship with Jake, so I’ll let her do the talking on this one -
We Meet - High School Orientation Day 2000
We Don’t Go to Formal Together - Year 12 Temple Christian College 2005
We Keep in Touch - August 2011
We Go on a First Date - July 2014
We Travel Around - UK, USA, and Caribbean 2015
And Travel Some More - Glastonbury Fest and Europe 2017
We Get Engaged - Deep Creek, SA, 25th August 2018
We Throw a Party - Engagement Party 20th April 2019
We Were MEANT to Get Married (thanks covid!) - 28th March 2020
We FINALLY Get Married - 24th October 2020
THE VENUE
With a last minute venue cancellation and ever-changing covid restrictions we had to bring this wedding together verrrry quickly (like in three weeks!) and both the South Australian Museum and Part Time Lover pulled it out of the bag for us. Endless thanks to both of them for going the extra mile.
WEDDING STYLE
While like most engaged couples Amelia and Jake had started off paying meticulous attention to the decor details, the last minute nature of this wedding brought what was most important into perspective and the focus changed to simply ensuring we could have a great menu and a boogie on the dance floor! As Jake said, ‘SA’s own Saint Nicola Spurrier relaxed the rules for us just in time.’ Venues with a lot of style did most of the talking, and beautiful flowers and rugs did the rest.
THE DRESS
Amelia had her gown custom-made by Greta Kate, and showcased her own personal style by adding a stunning Heather McDowall headpiece and earrings by Nikki Witt. For the reception she changed into a Michelle Mason dress that tied in with her bridesmaids dresses from Shona Joy and Bec & Bridge.
THE DANCEFLOOR
I don’t usually dedicate a special paragraph to this part of the day but when the couple chooses Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus for their First Dance well hello! You kinda have to talk it up! It took mere seconds for the rest of the crowd to join A+J on the dancefloor and set the tone for the rest of the night!
Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness together Amelia + Jake, you hung in there and we made it happen.
