When Emily and Jeremy envisioned their wedding day, they dreamed of a celebration that reflected their shared love of family, good food, and meaningful traditions. Their November wedding at Glen Lea Homestead delivered all this and more, offering a stunning blend of rustic farm charm and chic elegance.
A Love Story Rooted in Connection
Emily and Jeremy are the ultimate rom-com couple – quite literally! With a mutual love for classic Australian TV shows and romantic comedies, their evenings are often filled with cosy couch sessions. But don’t let the couch fool you – they’re also dedicated gym-goers who share a passion for great food. Their relationship is a balance of fun, fitness, and foodie adventures, making their wedding day an authentic reflection of who they are as a couple.
The Perfect Venue: Glen Lea Homestead
Emily grew up on a farm near Naracoorte, so choosing Glen Lea felt like coming home. The wide-open spaces reminded her of her childhood, but it was the phalaris paddock that truly stole her heart. Emily’s grandfather was one of the first farmers to grow phalaris grass in the area, making the venue a sentimental place for photos.
A Chic Take on Rustic Farm Style
Emily and Jeremy’s wedding theme was “rustic farm chic,” brought to life with a sophisticated colour palette of dark green, lavender, ivory, and gold. Instead of traditional floral arrangements, the tables were decorated with potted herbs like lavender, thyme, and rosemary, interspersed with English garden roses for an elegant yet earthy vibe.
Emily’s gown, with its layers of ruffles, inspired many of the day’s design elements, including napkins, sign stands, and stationery. This cohesive attention to detail created a visual feast that wowed guests from the ceremony to the reception.
Memorable Moments
The day was filled with heartwarming highlights, but a few moments stood out as extra special. Emily, known for her perpetually running-late tendencies, arrived early to the ceremony – a personal first! This stress-free start set the tone for a day that unfolded seamlessly, allowing the couple to fully savour every moment.
Another standout was the late-night snack: individual baskets of hot fries served to guests around 10 pm. It was a nod to Emily and Jeremy’s first date and a much-appreciated energy boost after hours on the dance floor.
The couple also loved their private sneak peek of the reception before guests entered, as well as a quiet moment together between the ceremony and reception.
