We met Kelly and Jake through the wonderful I-Do Crew, a nationwide wedding coordination service that we work with to help their South Australian couples get hitched!
The Venue
They had planned their wedding to be in the Riverland, alongside the Murray River as Kelly grew up in the area and her family still lives there. The Sparrow team and I were only too happy to travel there for the weekend and enjoy a change of scenery!
Wedding Style
Kelly had planned a colour scheme around soft watercolours, perfect for the environment, and florals were beautifully arranged by Kelly’s friend from the Flower Nook. She had quite a battle with the wind whilst trying to decorate the ceremony arbour but she was truly dedicated to a beautiful result and came out on top.
Kelly and Jake were also very focussed on making sure their 165 guests had a total blast, with plenty of activities and games available during the day, as well as a pumping dance floor later in the night. Kelly made quite a few of the decor elements herself including a gorgeous blue and white welcome sign, and all the bits and pieces needed for the candy bar.
Special guest was their dog Frank who had his own moment walking down the aisle, and stuck by Kelly’s side through most of the day, until it was time to go back to Jake’s houseboat for a nap after all that excitement. It was a big day for a little loyal dog :)
Despite the wild weather that blew through (we’re talking hot sun, followed by crazy wind, rain and a hailstorm later on) Kelly and Jake didn’t let anything phase them and we managed to keep everyone safe and dry! Happy Wedding Day you two, it was a cracker xo
